Pikeman Martial Arts is a community-driven martial arts academy based in Wexford, dedicated to authentic training and long-term development.
Founded by former professional MMA fighter Brian “The Pikeman” Moore, the academy was created to provide real martial arts in a structured and supportive environment.

No experience is needed at all. Most people who join have never trained before. Classes are structured so beginners can learn safely and progress at their own pace
Our youngest members are 3 years old! But I would recommend for most children that 5 or when they are in school, is a perfect age to start! Classes are age and skill appropriate and focus on confidence, coordination, and discipline in a safe environment.
No. BJJ is suitable for adults of all ages. Many people start in their 40s, 50s, or later. Training focuses on technique rather than strength or athleticism. I know I won't be stopping when I'm on the pension!
No. You don’t need to be fit to start — training will help you build fitness over time. Classes are scalable, and you’re encouraged to work at your own level.
Comfortable sportswear is fine for your first session. If you continue training, the coaches will advise you on suitable equipment such as a gi or gloves, depending on the class.
Safety is a priority. Classes are structured, supervised, and focused on controlled training. Techniques are taught progressively, and students are encouraged to train responsibly.
Yes. Most classes are designed so beginners and experienced students can train together safely. We keep our class sizes small to ensure we can work with all levels. Coaches ensure everyone is paired appropriately and learning at the right level.
Yes. There are pathways for students who wish to compete, but competition is completely optional. The majority of our members train purely for fitness, confidence, or enjoyment.
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch classes in our seated area, especially when children are new. This helps kids feel comfortable and allows parents to see how classes are run.
